MIT Self Assembly Lab Tour

Description: This activity is appropriate for children ages 12 and up.   The MIT Self Assembly Lab is a cross-disciplinary research lab at MIT inventing self-assembly and programmable material technologies aimed at re-imagining construction, manufacturing, product assembly and performance.  For more information you can check out the Lab’s Website here.  Also some great information on 4d printing can be found here  More information on the projects studied at The SUTD-MIT International Design Centre (IDC) can be found here

AgeThis activity is appropriate for students aged 12 and up. Children must be able to function independently and act respectfully. The size of the lab does not allow for parents to accompany the children on the tour.

Travel Tips: Parking options, you may reserve parking beforehand in the MIT visitors lot  for $20. This need to be done via the mail so be sure to leave plenty of time to receive your pass. There are also a couple hourly lots nearby as well. Also available is metered parking which is obviously first come first serve. I have been told that you will be ticketed if you park at a meter for more than two hours, after two hours you need to change spaces.
